To keep Behance free of spam and bots, we automatically limit actions that are sent in unusually high volume over a short period, including:
- Appreciating (liking) projects
- Posting comments
- Sending messages
- Applying to freelance jobs / publishing projects
This is an automated, site-wide protection — not a manual review or a Community Guidelines strike. You may see an in-product message like:
"Appreciating has been restricted on your account."
"Unable to send message at this time."
What this means
- Only the specific action is restricted (e.g., just appreciations) — the rest of your account works normally.
- It lifts automatically, usually within 24 hours.
- Browsing, search, and your portfolio are unaffected.
Why a project might disappear from search
If your account — or a co-owner's — has an active restriction, affected projects can be temporarily excluded from search until it clears. This is the same automated system, not a separate issue, and projects reappear on their own once the restriction lifts.
If it doesn't lift, or feels wrong
Contact Support with your profile link, roughly when you first saw it, and which action is restricted. We'll check and clear it if it was applied in error.
