The subsidy should be applied to the apprentice’s direct compensation. A portion can also be applied to cover costs directly attributable to the apprentice; i.e. benefits (if provided), software/training, equipment/supplies, Wi-Fi, relocation costs, etc. The subsidy is not necessarily intended to cover all costs related to the apprenticeship, and partners must ensure that apprentices are hired at wages that comply with all applicable labor laws in their geographic location.
