Behance charges a “platform fee” both to the client and the freelancer. Additionally, our payment processor, Stripe, charges the freelancer a transaction fee.
Behance is a powerful discovery and hiring platform with millions of visitors monthly, and our platform fee covers our part in connecting freelancers with clients, as well as managing the relationship between the two throughout the course of the project. Unlike other similar platforms, we charge both the client and the freelancer, and the freelancer will be charged less than the client overall.

Freelancers are also responsible for the Stripe Processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 |
*The Stripe fee is based off of the project total + client platform fee, which is 2.9% + $0.30. Please note that because the payments are made in two parts (upfront payment & final payment upon completion) the Stripe transaction fee is charged per transaction.
**Freelancer platform fee is based on the project's total
Example
For example, the fees for a $600 project with a 50% upfront payment would be as follows:
Hiring Fees: $55.50 (platform fee) + $2 = $57.50
Scaled Platform Fee Breakdown
- $500 x 10% = $50
- $100 x 5.5% = $5.50
Freelancer Fees: $27 (platform fee) + $19.67 (stripe fee)
Scaled Platform Fee Breakdown
- $500 x 5% = $25
- $100 x 2% = $2
Stripe Fee Breakdown
- $600 - Project Total
- $57.50 - Client Platform Fee
- $657.50 x 2.9% + $.30 = $19.67
